Competing with Microsoft Office, Ubuntu 15.04 comes with the new LibreOffice 4.4 that supports digitally signed PDfs, OneDrive and Sharepoint along with a better formatting with tables and mail merging.
Other functions include improved OpenGL and support for slide impressions in Draw and Impress.
Local menus are default:
Now all the applications will be using local menus by default instead of the global menu. Also, you are having the choice to switch back to the old menu.

For Ubuntu, click-to-minimise and locally integrated menus are now integrated along with the upgrades like to apps like Youker Assistant, Youker Weather,  Ubuntu Kylin Software Cente and more.

As a visual difference, instead of the usual Orange variant, the desktop now comes with a shade of purple.

Google to prop up Windows XP with Chrome support until 2016

Google has extended support for its Chrome browser on Windows XP until at least the end of 2015 after reneging on a plan to shut down updates in April.
Any systems still running the lumbering zombie that is XP, which Microsoft ended support for in April 2014, will continue to snag regular security patches and updates to prevent their systems falling prey to malware or browser-based attacks.
"Millions of people are still working on XP computers every day. We want those people to have the option to use a browser that's up-to-date and as safe as possible on an unsupported operating system," explained Mark Larson, director of engineering for Google Chrome, in a company blog post.
Google originally planed to turn off the update tap at some point in April, but could even extend support for Chrome on Windows XP beyond 2015 should it have another change of heart.

Crystal, AIG Offer Conceptual Art Insurance for Private Clients

Crystal & Co., a strategic risk and insurance advisor, has partnered with AIG Private Client Group, a division of AIG, to create a new insurance product for private clients with conceptual art collections.
Conceptual art is focused more on the idea being expressed, while the form and material are secondary. A certificate is provided by the artist to authenticate an item and without this, the piece is considered worthless. Therefore, if the certificate was lost or damaged, the item may have lost most of its value, according to Crystal & Co.

Historically, references to lost or damaged certificates of ownership have not been spelled out in fine art insurance policies, which can lead to uncertainty in the event of a claim. The endorsement created by AIG insurers in collaboration with Crystal & Co. specifies where conceptual artwork is covered.
“Since a piece of paper is often the only document essentially giving value to a work of conceptual art, we wanted to find a way to protect our clients’ investments even if something happens to their certificate.” Jonathan Crystal, executive vice president of Crystal & Co.
Ron Fiamma, global head of Private Collections for AIG Private Client Group, said the coverage idea is an effective way for the companies to address the concerns of their shared clients.
“Conceptual art collecting has increased in recent years, and as a result we have fielded more questions about policy contract coverage,” he said.
Crystal & Co. is headquartered in New York with 10 regional offices throughout the country, placing over $1 billion in premiums annually in the global insurance marketplace. It is a member of Brokerslink, a global alliance of independent insurance brokerages.
